History:
Born on the almost lawless world of Valhallan Falls, Avarice Trips was orphaned at a young age when his parents perished in a lethal speeder accident. Becoming a ward of the planet, he took to stealing when he entered his teens and made the mistake of lifting a vehicle that belonged to a man named Whatley.
Instead of turning the youth over to the police, Whatley bet the young man that he couldnt hotwire the vehicle faster than Whatley could. If Whatley lost, the youngster got the speeder signed over to himif Whatley won, Trips would give him four hours a day for a month to do whatever Whatley wished.
The competition ensued and Trips lost, and, as per the arrangement before they began, he began showing up to Whatleys home, a domed farm where Whatley made him till the hard ground every day. After a week of this hard work, while Trips was taking a lunch break, Whatley brought out a blaster and began popping off rounds at fizz cans and bottles. Intrigued, Trips asked if he could join in and Whatley began showing him how to hold the weapon and how to aim. Trips was a natural, and when it was time to go back to work Whatley promised Trips that as long as he showed up and gave him three hours of work he would instruct the young man in the sport of gunslinging.
Time passed and Whatley eventually contemplated taking on other students. Jealous and angry, Trips informed Whatley that, if he did, Trips would leave Whatley and go to a real academy. Whatley, not one to be backed into a corner and upset at this nasty side of Trips personality, told Trips he must do what he must do, but he would soon be taking on and instructing other slingers.
True to his word, Trips left soon afterwards and enrolled in the Cherri Academy- a famous gunslinging academy.
